SUNNY SUMMER SANDALS

I literally squealed when I heard the doorbell ring this morning! BAIT Footwear usually shows up at my house 2-3 days after I order from them so I was ready! Since summer is here again in Northern California I have been on the hunt for some great summer sandals that are comfy enough to wear everyday but are also fabulous and have some height.

I had been debating between the Doris and the Kiki style shoes, but ended up deciding on the Kiki because of the ankle strap and the 2" wedge. I love heels but usually I am more a fan of kitten heel heights because I am clumsy. I got them in the Dijon color which I was hoping would be a neutral color that I could match with my numerous brown and gold accessories.

I paired my Kiki's with a 60's vintage dress I bought on Etsy a couple weeks ago. I have literally worn this dress twice a week since receiving it -- just look at those shoulder frills! Underneath I have on my cream colored petticoat from Vivien of Holloway, the most comfortable frilly petticoat I have ever found hands down.

After walking around for a couple hours the sandals proved very comfortable. Since they are new they did need to be broken in, and my unaccustomed toes were slightly irritated by the cross band but I believe I'll get used to it in time.

I took the plunge with Kat Von Dee's lipstick as well after hearing non-stop great things about it and I now want all her colors! In these photos I'm wearing Double Dare, which is a fantastic dusty rose pink that does not rub off! That means I can kiss my love and not worry about smudges or reapplying over and over again. The next color I want is Outlaw -- a great pinup red color that all my favorite insta/blog ladies have raved over. I feel really timid wearing reds and dark lip stains though so I've been warming myself up for more daring colors this summer.
